Safety Matrix

Technical Eligibility: While Shitidhar is accessible to strong trekkers, it is not a casual walk-up. Candidates should have prior high-altitude trekking experience (above 14,000 ft) and strong cardiovascular fitness. Prior completion of a Basic Mountaineering Course (BMC) or experience on Patalsu Peak is an advantage. Crevasse & Glacier Discipline: The approach between Camp 1 and the summit col crosses active glacial ice with concealed crevasses. Moving roped up in designated teams of three is mandatory. Unroped glacier travel is strictly forbidden. Turnaround Cutoff (TAT): A strict summit turnaround time of 8:30 AM is enforced. Any climber who has not breached the upper summit ridge by this hour must reverse course with their dedicated guide to prevent descent over softened, slushy snow slopes under the hot midday sun.
