The trek
Standing sentinel along the rugged boundary separating the Lahaul Valley of Himachal Pradesh from the Zanskar region of Ladakh, Mount Shinku East (approximately 6,050 m / 19,850 ft) is an imposing alpine peak rising immediately east of the historic Shinku La (Shingo La) pass. Positioned in the transition zone where the verdant Himalayan tree line yields to the arid, wind-swept moonscapes of the Trans-Himalayas, the peak is a benchmark semi-technical 6,000-meter objective.
The Shinkun East Expedition is a high-altitude mountaineering adventure to one of the striking peaks of the Lahaul Himalayas. Rising to approximately 6,081 meters (19,950 feet), Mount Shinkun East stands near Shinkun La, in the remote mountain region connecting Lahaul in Himachal Pradesh with the Zanskar region of Ladakh.

Safety Matrix
Rapid Elevation Profile: Moving to 15,400 feet by vehicle requires strict physiological discipline. Frontpoint Adventures enforces mandatory rest days in Jispa, daily 4-liter hydration benchmarks, and twice-daily pulse-oximeter (SpO2) tracking. Glacier Rope Discipline: The upper glacier features hidden crevasses and hard neve. Moving roped up in designated teams of two or three is strictly enforced above crampon point. Unroped glacier movement is prohibited. Turnaround Cutoff (TAT): A strict summit turnaround cutoff of 8:30 AM is enforced. Any climber who has not breached the upper summit ridge by this hour must reverse course with their dedicated guide to prevent descent over softened, unstable snow slopes under the hot midday sun.
