Technical Prerequisites: Reo Purgyil is strictly reserved for experienced high-altitude mountaineers. Candidates must demonstrate prior summit success on peaks above 6,000 meters (such as Mentok Kangri 2, Kang Yatse 2, Black Peak, or Mount Deo Tibba) alongside formal certifications in Basic and Advanced Mountaineering Courses (BMC/AMC). Complete mastery of crampon footwork, jumar ascents, and controlled abseiling is non-negotiable. Cold & High-Altitude Exposure: Operating near 7,000 meters in a trans-Himalayan cold desert exposes climbers to acute hypoxia and frostbite hazards. Double or 6,000M-rated mountaineering boots, 800+ fill down parkas, heavy mittens, and continuous SpO2/pulse monitoring are mandatory. Turnaround Cutoff (TAT): A non-negotiable summit turnaround cutoff of 9:30 AM is strictly enforced. Any climber who has not breached the final summit ridge by this cutoff must reverse course with their dedicated guide to prevent descent during hazardous afternoon gale-force winds.
