Previous high-altitude trekking experience is strongly beneficial. Participants must also meet the technical and experience requirements established for the actual route. If snow or glacier travel is involved, the necessary skills must be learned and practised under qualified supervision. Preparation should include uphill hiking, aerobic exercise, leg and core strength training and practice walking with a loaded backpack. Participants should also become familiar with their equipment before departure and follow the recommended clothing and packing list. Mental readiness matters just as much as physical fitness. Altitude & Acclimatization Discipline: Gaining over 5,000 meters requires steady physiological adaptation. Frontpoint Adventures enforces mandatory acclimatization hikes to Chota Chandratal, strict 4-liter daily hydration benchmarks, and twice-daily SpO2 threshold logs. Glacier Rope-Team Protocol: The upper glaciated slopes feature seasonal crevasses. Moving roped up in designated teams of two or three is strictly enforced above Summit Camp. Unroped glacier travel is prohibited. Turnaround Cutoff (TAT): A strict summit turnaround cutoff of 8:30 AM is enforced. Any climber who has not breached the upper snow dome by this cutoff must reverse course with their dedicated guide to prevent descending over softened, slushy snow slopes under the hot midday sun.
